John Wood & NLU Alliance Broadens Access to Affordable Education for Local Students

On Monday, John Wood Community College held a press conference alongside National Louis University from Chicago to formally announce their participation in the Direct to Success initiative.

This collaboration will enable graduates from John Wood Community College to enroll at National Louis University via an exclusive transfer scholarship, providing coverage for 25 percent of the entire tuition fee at NLU.

Dr. Shelley Barkley, the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at John Wood Community College, expressed their enthusiasm about collaborating with NLU as they look toward the future.

"But it's truly exhilarating to realize that we're significantly broadening our reach with this agreement signed today. Our students will now have access to several programs at a reasonable price, making these opportunities genuinely attainable for them as they work towards achieving their aspirations without having to leave the region," Barkley stated.

In order to be eligible for the program, students are required to finish their associate degree at John Wood Community College and submit an application to National Louis University within twelve months of graduating.

The university provides online, blended, and on-site courses, enabling students to select the format that best suits their lifestyle and location.
