Frank Fritz's American Pickers Shop Collapses: Friend Calls It Quits After Refusal to Run Business

Frank Fritz The antique shop hasn't quite managed to do justice to hislegacy.

It has been nearly months since the American Pickers ' alum passed away and his store is perilously close to sharing the same destiny as his co-star Mike Wolfe's Nashville business, which closed permanently earlier this month .

The sole distinction between them is Wolfe’s shop was filled with fresh antique items. Until the very end, while it appeared Fritz was left in the wrong hands.

  • The last medical examination of Gene Hackman disclosed the officially recognized reason for his death two months subsequent.

The reality star's cherished antique shop, Frank Fritz Finds, is situated within his friend Jerry Gendreau's establishment, Hawgdogs Bar, in Savannah.

Jerry recently talked to The Sun about the state of the store following Frank's death and mentioned that it has experienced better times.

Jerry confessed, "The store has been dormant for quite a while now."

Jerry feels that antiques are no longer trendy and do not capture people's attention as they used to.

He remembered: "There was a period when we had 120." antique dealers here."

“What’s actually happening is that it’s like a barn filled with errors,” he clarified. “Everything here is what people didn’t want. The valuable items sell quickly, but the useless things remain.”

As per the bar owner, establishments of this kind thrive solely under an "up-to-date" proprietor. Sadly, nobody has taken the initiative to assume that role.

"It’s clear it doesn’t contain anything of value now,” he stated. “I’m not planning to purchase more items.”

He went on: "It’s possible someone will revitalize it someday, but I doubt it’ll be me, my wife, or anyone we know."

We all stopped liking that idea. I'll wait and watch how things go with the store.

Jerry believes he is already remembering his friend in other ways.

He stated, 'We've become more about entertainment nowadays.' Frank was passionate about music. However, this place is primarily known for motorcycles. That’s what drew Frank to this town.

Shortly after his passing, Jerry had intended to keep the shop operational.

He informed the magazine, "For 35 years, we've operated as an antique shop. It's likely we will keep up this tradition."

Jerry initially intended to renovate the store to showcase motorcycles and choppers that embody Frank's style.

He imagined them lined up on racks running down the middle.

He mentioned, 'We’re attempting to figure out what others expect me to do.'

Based on fan feedback, he has not excelled at this task, as they were unhappy with how the store was maintained; it is now overrun with cobwebs and dust.

On Google One commenter noted: "If Frank had been healthier, I believe he would have accomplished more with the store. Rest in peace, friend."
