“Unity Over Competition: New Market in Clarksburg Unveiled”
CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) - Residents of Harrison County who wish to purchase and sell locally now have an additional venue for these activities.
The upcoming "Twilight Market at the Square" will be a monthly event featuring crafts and gardens, held concurrently with the existing Clarksburg Farmers Market.
The administrators of the marketplace stated in a social media update that it will offer advantages to the city of Clarksburg including an economic uplift, fostering community spirit, enhancing culture, and attracting tourists.
The market will occur recurrently during the summer and autumn seasons at Jackson Square.
It largely stemmed from reading all the comments about the Bridgeport and UHC fiasco," explained RJ Minard, Manager of the Square’s Twight Market. "After going over all the feedback and opinions shared by local residents, it became clear that what they lacked was access to a market during later hours.
Minard stressed that he does not view this emerging market as competition but rather sees it as an opportunity for expansion. "Our operation will run during different times than the other significant markets like White Hall and Clarksburg Farmers Market. This way, vendors who have leftover products after their events can also join our market. It’s all about community collaboration instead of competing."
The newly disclosed dates are June 7, July 5, August 9, and October 11.
The market will operate between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on those days.
